Eric Swenson is a Visual Effects Director of Photography, who over the last decade and a half, has worked on features ranging from Dune, The 6th Day and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, to Back to the Future II and III, Monkeybone and Clockstoppers.

Swenson believes that the world of visual effects requires a very exacting approach to shooting. He is finding that the control offered by Soft Egg Crates® fits very closely with the needs of photographing against matting screens. "Normally, I would completely wrap and flag the light sources to prevent any spill from hitting the green screen, but by using an (Soft) Egg Crate®, I was able to save putting in a truckload of flags to control the spill. For me it really is a speed thing, speed and control. You can still have a nice big soft light, but not have spill."
